When was the boycott of Jewish Shops?
1st April 1933 - only lasted one day
Was the boycott suceful?
- Unsuccessful as many German people ignored the Nazis and continued to use their local shops whether they were owned by Jews or not
- It also wasn’t clear what was/wasn’t a Jewish business and lacked support in general

The Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service in April 1933 dismissed all Jews from the civil service
Was the Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service sucessful?
Hindenburg had exceptions for Jews that served in WW2 and Jews had large influence in law, medicine and education
But 37,000 Jews did emigrate in 1933
What impact was there on Jewish doctors and lawyers?
In theory they were banned but continued practising for many years post the ban in 1933

April 1933 the Law against overcrowding of German schools restricted the number of Jews in state education

Not all Jews were forced out until 1938 and they could just attend private and Jewish schools

In 1935 the Reich Citizenship Law and the Law for the Protection of German Blood and Honour were passed

- Someone could only be classed as German if they had German blood
- All non-Aryans and Jews had fewer rights
What was the Law for Protection of German Blood and Honour?
- Marriage between Aryans and non Aryans banned
- Illegal for Jews to marry or have sex with a German citizen
