What is the nervous system composed of?
central nervous system and peripheral nervous system
What does the CNS contain?
brain and spinal cord
What does the PNS contain?
12 cranial nerves, and 31 symmetrical spinal nerves
What protects the CNS?
skull, meninges, cerebrospinal fluid, and vertebrea
What protects the CNS?
skull, meninges, cerebrospinal fluid, and vertebrae
what does the frontal lobe control?
voluntary movement, fine repetitive motor, judgement, foresight, affect, personality
what does the parietal lobe control?
sensory functions (visual, gustatory, olfactory, auditory) interpretation of tactile sensation such as temperature, pressure and pain.
What does the Occipital lobe control?
vision and interpretation of visual stimuli
What does the Temporal lon control
perceives and interprets sound. integration of taste, smell, and balance.
