What are the 3 categories of the Glascow Coma Scale?
A
Eyes (1-4 points), verbal (1-5) and motor (1-6). Patients receive a score from 3-15

How is neurologic function assessed during the primary survey?
A
AVPU: Alert (is patient awake), Verbal (responds with either verbal, eye or motor response when verbally addressed), Pain (responds to pain when not responding to verbal stimulus), and Unresponsive (not responsive to verbal or painful stimuli). If patient is responsive, have them wiggle toes and fingers in all four extremities
