Q

BIS Values

A

100 = awake, memory intact

65-85 = a measure of sedation

40-65 = recommended for GENERAL anesthesia; deep hynosis, memory function lost

<40 = Near suppression; increasing burst suppression

0 = cortical silence

BIS analysis may reduce patient awareness during anesthesia

  2. What do you remember right when awakening?
  3. Do you remember anything in between going to sleep and awakening?
