Education action zones
Providing additional resources to schools in deprived inner cities through the support of local businesses

Unis given money to help raise aspirations of wc students
Education maintenance allowance

16 education. Students could be paid £30 a week for attending.
National literacy strategy
More literacy taught, atleast an hour a week to ensure students make literacy requirements for their age group

focused on expanding vocational education (education which focuses on the skills required for a

A successful school that shares strategies and practices with others
Academy’s
chools which are not run by the Local Education Authority (LEA) and which have more
freedom in terms of curriculum provision

Labours polices are purely cosmetic + present a positive image without actually promoting equality
Trowler
increased funding for state education, focus on raising standards and
a focus on a ‘learning society’ shows Labours commitment to reducing inequality in education
