Mirroring and pacing.

Mirroring: reflecting observable behaviours e.g. if one leans forward so does the other. Improves rapport.

Pacing: lead another person from a particular style

Focused: Area of enquire more precisely

Leading: Implying a specific answer

A
  1. Introduction: gain consent, confirm patients name, DoB. Introduce yourself.
  2. Presenting complaint: Why they have attended the surgery today.
  3. Past medical history
  4. Systemic enquiry: questions regarding the presenting complaint e.g. respiratory questions for a cough.
  5. Drug history: medications, allergies, smoking, illict drugs
  6. Family history: any conditions that run in the family
  7. Social history: their life; family, work, exercise etc
