Acetaminophen: Do not self-medicate longer than
5 days
Safe Adult Acetaminophen dose is
200 mg/d (2g/day)
not to exceed 4g/day to avoid Liver Damage
Toxic level of Acetaminophen is:
> 50 mcg/mL
>200 mcg/mL –> Hepatoxicity
Normal serum level of Acetaminophen is:
5-20 mcg/mL
Antidote for Acetaminophen
acetyl-cysteine
