lined by ciliated, mucus-secreting, highly vascular mucosa
What does the mucosa help do in the nasal cavity?
Clean inspired air

humidify air
keeps respiratory tract clean and moist

What is the function of the cilia?
brush away particles in inspired air and move mucus towards back of throat where it is unconsciously swallowed.
