A

Equal sensitivity to MRI for osteomyelitis: far less specific
Use as a sensitive test to detect occult metastases from cancer

A

Fever of unknown origin: gallium follows Fe metabolism and is transported on Transferrin: increases in uptake in infection and some cancer

What is an Indium scan used for?

A

Fever of Unknown origin: superior in assessing the abdomen which can be obscured in gallium: Indium is a tagged WBC scan to detect infection patients WBC are tagged then reinjected to see where they localize
