Where is water lost out of the body?
Kidneys, skin, lungs, feces
what are the 3 elements of thirst?
- blood steals water from salivary glands

What is dehydration and the signs?
when thirst lags behind lack of water
Signs: Headache, fatigue, thirst, confusion, elevated heart rate.
What is water intoxication and signs?
when too much water is consumed and electrolytes are thrown off balance, blood gets too diluted, and cells swell.
what factors impact fluid needs?
Foods eaten, temperature and humidity, altitude, activity level, age, diseases like with medication.
Difference between hard and soft water?
Hard water has high concentrations of calcium and magnesium and soft water has high sodium levels. people with high blood pressure should avoid soft water.
