Q

One limitation of Milgram’s procedure?

A
  • He may not be testing what he intended to. 75% said they beleieved the shocks were real. Martin and charles said they acted because theu didn’t beleive in the set up. She listened to the tapes of Milgram and that only half of them thought it was real. 2/3 were disobedient .
  • This suggests they were reacting to demand characteristics to fulfil aims of the study.
