define obedience
complying with the orders of an authority figure

whats compliance
going along with the majority although we privately do not agree
whats normative social influence
the individual wants to gain acceptance and avoid rejection so they follow the groups behavior despite their beliefs
whats internalization
going along with the majority because you do not know how to behave, and look to others to adopt their beliefs and behavior
whats informational social influence
when someone conforms because they believe the group has the correct information so they adopt others beliefs and behavior
whats identification
changing your beliefs/behavior only when a group is present, this can be seen as short term NSI
define deindividuation
loss of personal self awareness and responsibility as a result of being in a group
define bystander effect
peoples reluctance to help because they believe others will help instead
