- When the subject is handcuffed; - When the subject is detained in holding area or patrol veichle; - When the subject is in custody in a police holding facility; and - If the individual is not being arrested

What are some things to consider when using OCS
- Wind direction - Confined spaces - Location of other officers and bystanders - Range of subject (splash back, not reaching subject) - While advancing - Avoid uncontrolled contact with contaminated subject - Avoid touching eyes or face after dealing with contaminated subject. Wash your hands ASAP

When should you start the decontamination process?
As soon as tactically feasible

What are subject factors that would affect the length of decontamination?
- Target acquisition area - Humidity - Wind - Subject cooperation - Keeping the subject calm and focused - Available decontamination resources

What are some notes to be taking?
- Time of spray - Time of decontamination - Time of Transportation - Who you turned subject over to - Condition of subject at these times

What is OCS and what are some of the temporary side effects?
OCS is an inflammatory agent. Side affects include physiological effects, effects to the eyes, respiratory system and the skin as well as other effects my take place

How do you decontaminate someone?
1. Use designated areas if available 2. Have subject remove contact lens 3. Supply copious amounts of cool clean water or an approved antidote 4. Use mild soap 5. Don't use salves or ointments 6. Offer alternate clothing if available

What should you do after spraying a subject?
Disengage
