L - Literacy Search
Conduct a literacy search to gather secondary data and find previous research that has been done on (research topic). I will do this by looking at Google Scholar, instead of regular Google as this will make my research more academically based. I will also go to my local university library to search for any previous research, as an A-level student this is ideal as they are free and easy to access. The literacy search will give me an idea of the results that I will expect to find, however as I do this I will make sure to remain objective and not allow any previous research to influence my expectations. This could also indicate how I should conduct my research by observing any flaws in the previous study that i can avoid.
S - Sampling Technique
Next I will decide a sampling technique, which is the process by which I will select my participants. opportunity - choose those who are readily available. as an a level student i will be revising for exams so this is quick and easy. however a weakness is that pps will not representative of the target population so results can’t be generalised.
R - Research Method (questionnaire)
Questionnaire - a set of predetermined questions on Google forms because as an A level student it will be quick and easy to make as it will be able to number crunch my data for me and save me a lot of time. I will be using closed questions, which ask pps to choose from a predefined set of responses as they are easier to collect and faster for pps to complete. I would like to do an unstructured interview along with this questionnaire as it would allow me to TRIANGULATE alongside being able to build a rapport and possibly gain verstehen with my participants

P - Pilot
Before I collect my data, I will complete a pilot study, this is a small-scale version of my research which I will test to ensure that it’s appropriate. I will ask the people in my sociology class to complete the questionnaire and to identify any issues, e.g. if questions r worded properly. I will also ask for any general feedback that could help me improve my study quality. I will also be able to use the data from my pilot study in the main results at the end and will also improve the reliability/continuity of research
C - Collecting Data
Next I will collect my data. I will gather responses over 2 weeks, I would like to gather it for longer with more pps to increase representativeness however i don’t have time. I will stand in the college cafeteria dn choose first 20 people i see who are willing to take part in my questionnaire on ___. I will also them to scan a QR code which links them to the google form, as it is an iPad college they should have easy access. this means i will have the responses all in one place
A - Analysing Data
Collected quant data as i collected closed questions in questionnaire, therefore will use a bar graph. i have used google forms which has an inbuilt feature that lets me see the responses in different formats such as summary charts, individual responses and google sheets. this means that it will not be time consuming for me and it will allow me to analyze the data on ____ efficiently as an A LEVEL student
