Effect is central, possibly in the area postrema of the brainstem

Dosing: adult prophylaxis, pediatric prophylaxis, treatment (adults)

A

Adult prophylasis: 4 mg IV prior to emergence

Pediatric prophylaxis: 50 - 150 ug / kg IV

Treatment (adults): 1-2 mg IV
