What is corporate social responsibility?
Refers to businesses doing more than just obeying the law and requires businesses to be open and accountable based on respect for people, the community/ society and the broad environment.
Define the difference between legal compliance and ethical responsibility:
All businesses must comply with applicable laws and legislation, however some will go further, following the intended ‘spirit’ of the law, or go beyond minimum standards, known as ethical responsibility.
Name and define the 2 types of inputs
- Transformed resources: those that are changed and converted in the operations process (materials, information, & customers)
- Transforming resources: those that carry out the transformation process (human & facilities)
Whats the difference between sequencing and scheduling?
Sequencing is the order in which activities in the operations occur.
Scheduling is the lengths of time activities take within the operations process.
Name 2 main scheduling tools:
- Gantt charts
