o When setting the altimeters to the local setting the indicated altitude must be within 50 feet of the field
elevation.
o The maximum difference between the two primary altimeters is 75 feet.

What equipment is required to be operable to enter RVSM airspace? [GOM pg. Z-4]

Answer 2

o Two primary altimeters
o One automatic altitude control system (Autopilot) o One altitude alerting device
o One transponder

Question 3

Are we required to report RVSM equipment failures to ATC?

Answer 3

o Yes, failure of any of the items listed above and/or an inability to maintain your assigned level would
necessitate a report. ATC will either provide a clearance to exit RVSM airspace or make special provisions (2000 foot separation from other traffic) and allow you to remain in RVSM.
