Are we required to report RVSM equipment failures to ATC?

A

o Yes, failure of any of the items listed above and/or an inability to maintain your assigned level would
necessitate a report. ATC will either provide a clearance to exit RVSM airspace or make special provisions (2000 foot separation from other traffic) and allow you to remain in RVSM.
