Who are the Project Board?
Defined group of people making major project decisions. Accountable to the business for the success of the project and has the authority to direct the project within the remits of other business.

What is the Senior Users purpose?
Will use the outputs of the project to realise the benefits.
Will operate, maintain or support the projects outputs.
The outputs of the projects will impact them.
What is the Executives role?
Representing the business interests on the project.
What is the Senior Users role?
Represent the users interests on the project.
What is the senior suppliers purpose?
The creation of the projects outputs will need resources with certain skills.
What is the senior suppliers role?
Represent supplier interest on the project.
What are the four layers of the project management team?
Commissioning
Directing
Managing
Delivering
What is the purpose of the business layer (commissioning)?
Responsible for the project mandate executive and defining the project level tolerances.
What is the purpose of the project board (directing)?
Representations from the business, user and supplier. Accountable for project success, and responsible for overall direction and management of the project within commissioning restraints.
What is the purpose of the project manager (managing)?
Responsible for the day to day management of the project within constraints established by the project board.
What is the purpose of the team manager (delivering)?
Day to day managing of their section of project work, working with other people across the project ecosystem. Working in line with constraints from the project manager.

If the project tolerances are breached what must happen?
This must be escalated via a report to the next layer above.
What does project assurance do?
Ensures that the project board is responsible for how assurance should be undertaken.
What does project support do?
Administrative support and guidance on project tools. Responsibility of the project manager but may be delegatd. Project office may be established.
What is the Work Breakdown Structure?
A hierarch of all work to be done during a project that forms a link between the product breakdown structure and the work packages. Supports the project manager in structuring teams and setting boundaries.
