  2. one or more must be designated unless subparts B, C, D and H are always carried out by marine chemist.
  3. exception, the employer may designate any person who meets applicable portions of “criteria for CP” in certain situations

A
  1. repair work on small boats where the combustible gas indicator tests are only required for fuel tank leaks or flammable paints below deck
  2. building of wood vessels where precautions for using flammable paints is only required
  3. ship breaking where there is no fuel or oil or flammable hazard
  4. tests and inspections performed to comply with 1915.35(b)(8) painting: inspection of cables, no connections within 50ft, not overloaded and suspended with no stress & 1915.36(a)(5) flammable liquids: liquid solvents, paint, preservative coatings, highly volatile and flammable , see previous.

  2. knowledge of subparts b,c,d and H and be able to perform all test and inspections required
