What is the definition of osmosis
A
Diffusion of water from a dilute solution, to a concentrated solution, through a partially permeable membrane

An example of this in cells?
A
The cytoplasm has a low contraction of water
If a cell is in water
The water will go from the outside into the cells cytoplasm via osmosis
This can cause the cell to burst

A
The plant cell shrinks due to osmosis

A
The plant cell expands, but doesn’t burst due to its cell wall
