A

difficulty with the movement of lips and/or tongue to the right place to say the sounds

the muscles are not weak
- Better automatic speech (greetings)

A
  • slurred or slow speech that can be difficult to understand
  • Can sound “impaired”
  • impaired movement of the muscles for speech production- lips, tongue, vocal folds, and/or diaphragm
    type and severity depend on which area of the nervous system
