A condition where the bone surrounding the stapes that sits in the oval window of the cochlear becomes fixed in place and cannot vibrate due to abnormal bone growth in this area.
Lower frequencies
Tinnitus
20-40 yrs - main cause of hearing loss in young people
Hearing aids
Surgical replacement fo stapes via stapedectomy or stapedotomy
