moderate- 8-12 cm, ascites can be seen in ultrasound
severe->12cm , clinical ascitis
critical , critical ascitis(respiratory distress near death)

  • avoid pregnancy in severe and critical forms
  • give oral fluids for mild and moderate forms
  • remove fluids (tap ascites and effusion)
