  • 8 marks, 10 mins
  • 2 paras: 1 how useful based on content, other how useful based on provenance (support both w contextual knowledge)
  • can include discussion of limitations but must focus mainly on what you can learn from the source
  • can get full marks w/o discussing limitations

  • 2 paras: ST significance and mid/LT significance
  • explain in detail: what it was like before, explain ways it changes, evaluate how far it changed
  • link short & mid/long term significance together for level 4

  • 2 paras, one similarity in each para
  • similarities could explain are causes/motivations, consequences/impact, people involved, types of protest/actions, how dealt w, etc
  • do not explain differences!!

how do you answer q4 (has … been the main way in which … since medieval times)?

A
  • need to explain “how far” you agree w the factor
  • use detailed specific knowledge to support explanations
  • need to refer to events in all the four periods in the course, to show an awareness across time
  • 4 paras: factor in q, 2nd factor, 3rd factor, conclusion
  • use word “because” as much as possible
  • make links to show how one led to another for level 4; support this w evidence, don’t just state it
  • explained judgement needed for level 4
