P1 Flashcards
(5 cards)
Whole of paragraph 1:
Assisted dying should be legal for terminally ill people in the UK to give them dignity, control, and personal autonomy. Everyone should have the right to make choices about their life and death, because if they don’t, who does? Why should others force them to endure unbearable pain? Every year, over 650 terminally ill people in the UK end their own lives, often in lonely and traumatic ways, because they have no legal alternative. This figure does not even account for the thousands more who are trapped in utter misery, with no way out. Is that better than letting them die peacefully, in comfort, surrounded by loved ones who can say goodbye?
