A

Colposcopy. (OR repeat Pap and DNA at 6 and 12 mo and if -, return to normal screen)

If negative then pap in 3 years.

Do patients with hysterectomy need a pap smear?

A

Only if they had cervical
cancer or high grade dysplasia.

*also of note pts age 65-70 can discontinue paps if they have had 2-3 negative paps

A
<21= Dont do
21-29= every 3 years
30-65= Pap + HPV every 5
65+= D/C if negative

A
  1. Cytology shows Abnormal cells
  2. HPV typing
  3. Colopscopy with biopsy if high risk HPV is present

What is acute salpingitis? What is the presentation?

A

PID caused by gonorrhea.

Yellowish discharge that exacerbates before and after menstruation.
Abdominal pain, CMT, adnexal tenderness.
