agree
The phrase “social group” refers to the connections that exist among people in society and impact how we interact. This has a significant impact on the evolution of our language. We may also refer to the “familect” subcategory of social groupings, which is described as a common manner of communication with one’s relatives. This underlines how language is influenced by the social group you belong to.
theorists
Lesley Milroy 1987 defined social networks as a web of relationships. Two important characteristics of a social network were density and multiplexity. Density refers to the amount of connections in a social group, whereas multiplexity refers to the number of connections two members of a social network share. Milroy proposed that linguistic variances may be explained by social networks. She discovered that those with a high network density score had pronounced accents. However, more isolated persons with low network density had weaker accents. Overall, Milroy discovered that a high network density strength score was associated with the usage of informal or non-standard forms.
