  1. Use a sharp pencil
  2. No fuzzy lines
  3. No shading or colour
  4. Label lines must be drawn with a ruler (and preferably parallel to the top of the page)
  5. Label lines mustn’t cross
  6. Label lined must touch what they are labelling
  7. No arrowheads

Explain the function of the different parts of the microscope: course focus, fine focus, light, eyepiece, objective lens, stage, slide (7)

A
  1. Course focus: Used when first focusing the sample.
  2. Fine focus: Used to fully focus the sample.
  3. Light: Illuminates the slide, making the specimen visible.
  4. Eyepiece: The part you look through and also contains a x10 lens.
  5. Objective lens: You can rotate to allow ise of x4, x10, or x40 lenses
  6. Stage: The slide is placed on this.
  7. Slide: The specimen to view is mounted on here.
