A
- threatened and murdered a mass number of innocent people by sending them to their fate in the guillotine
- motivation is to have the country follow him in fear of the consequences if they don’t

A
- It is wrong to gain people’s support through fear because it doesn’t accomplish anything
- Robespierre wants to help the people but he won’t listen to us
- If he is for the people then why is he killing those who have a separate opinion?

A
- base idea to majority of later revolutions in history
- drove the Austrian revolution in 1848
- large influence for later events caused it to have a large impact on history and for the future
- allows us to see how history has evolved and how we have learned from our mistakes
- there are consequences when you abuse your power
- reflection on personal world view because we get to decide our opinion

What are the causes and consequences?
A
- poor leadership and unfair treatment for the lower class
- King Louis XVI hogged food and didn’t worry about starving country and Marie Antoinette over spent countries money
- caused people to revolt and lead to mass killing of the French population

- Robespierre’s idea was very wrong because it lead to a major decrease in population
- feeling of fear laid over the country
- wrong to attempt gaining power by fear and death
- people such as journal writer would have same thoughts and positions because she was in a bad position
- Robespierre would think of it as social norm to do anything for power
