1
Q
How can you deduce the values for which a fraction like 10/ (x+3)^3 is less than 0
A
- Less than zero means negative
- As fraction is positive, positive over negative is xero
- Therefore denominator must be zero
- x + 1 must be negative
- Then find the value of x this works for.
2
Q
When do you get the most accurate expansion for which value of x?
A
- When x is closest to zero.
3
Q
How can you describe the transformation that maps the curve with equation y=f(x) onto g(x)
A
- Step 1 look for the how the functions look similar and sub in something to make them look similar
- Step 2, then do another transformation to make them the same.
4
Q
How could you find the range of a function when it is 21/ a quadratic.
A
- Step 1, 21/something when the function tends to infinity the fraction will tend to zero.
- Step 2, when the function is its smallest value the fraction will be at highest value.
