Q

How can you deduce the values for which a fraction like 10/ (x+3)^3 is less than 0

A
  • Less than zero means negative
  • As fraction is positive, positive over negative is xero
  • Therefore denominator must be zero
  • x + 1 must be negative
  • Then find the value of x this works for.

Q

How can you describe the transformation that maps the curve with equation y=f(x) onto g(x)

A
  • Step 1 look for the how the functions look similar and sub in something to make them look similar

Q

How could you find the range of a function when it is 21/ a quadratic.

A
  • Step 1, 21/something when the function tends to infinity the fraction will tend to zero.
  • Step 2, when the function is its smallest value the fraction will be at highest value.
