  • Metamorphic and igneous rocks are generally more resistant to
    erosion and reflect past volcanic activity
  • So form higher ground with mountainous areas in much of Scotland and
    North Wales as a result
  • Higher ground more likely to be moorland with imposing landscapes and much surface rock/scree
  • Lowland clearly sedimentary rocks
  • There are exceptions

Positive : Attracts investment, increased income generated - more people are attracted to come and spend.

Negative: Displaces people due to lack of affordable housing - becomes more expensive as it becomes a more desirable area

OS maps can show beach management

Plan your route and day ahead

Determine lengths of the beaches to establish the three different points of measurement that are equal - systematic sample to be carried out.

Establish if accessible and safe/ health and safety.
