A
  1. raise patients’ knees (crook lying), lumbrical grip
  2. place hands on either side of the top of pelvis, ask patients to push hands down and lift bottom
  3. move feet in line with pelvis
  4. ask patient to move shoulders across; adjust pelvis if necessary

  1. place hands under hollows of ankles and knees and use legs (weight shift) to pull patient’s legs towards you
  2. place patient’s hands over chest

A
  1. near arm away from bed, far arm across chest
  2. put far knee up, ensure knee doesn’t drop
  3. place hands on scapula and pelvis and use legs to pull up
    To unroll: straighten lower limbs

  1. open end to the direction of movement
  2. roll patient either side (quarter roll) to allow slide sheet to be put under patient)
  3. patient arms crossed over chest
  4. interlock arms with other therapist and weight shift

  1. lean patient to one side and take weight off opposite buttock and place hand under ischial tuberosity
  2. pull patient forward
  3. repeat on other side
  4. ensure feet are flat on floor and hands are on bed

A
  1. shuffle patient forward (half thighs supported)
  2. ensure bed is at a good height (feet just touching the ground)
  3. stand on patient’s weaker side
  4. place foot in front of patient’s foot and knee on theirs (maintain contact)
  5. inside arm wraps around patient and outside arm on closest clavicle
  6. encourage patient to lean forwards (shoulders over knees)
  7. ensure patient is stabilised

  2. one hand (closest) on clavicle and other on iliac crest
  3. walk patient to bed, ensuring weak knee is supported
  4. feet back on bed before lowering
