A

Pros:
Ajustable height
Swivel wheels can be locked
Locks for posterior wheels to prevent back roll
Folds up for transportation
Allows child to stand more upright
Seat option

Cons:
Less supportive than gait trainer
Heavier weight

What are the pros and cons of a gait trainer?

A

Pros:
Forearm troughs for decreased grip/hand function
Able to take parts off for lighter weight
Trunk support to guide hips
Pelvic guide (can also be used for rest)
Highly adjustable for alignment
Wheel locks that go both directions
Can be used as a anterior and posterior walker

Cons:
Heavier than gait trainer
Not as portable
Not used for community ambulation

A

Pros:
Very stable
Wheels that can be locked for movement
Adjustable for growth and function (3-5 yrs)
Can stabilize feet, shoulders and head
Pelvic guide and harness used for stability
Additional tray can be added for function

Cons:
Bulky
Obvious

What are the pros and cons of a stander?

A

Pros:
Prone (poor extension control) and supine (poor head control) available
Very stable
Wheels that can be locked for movement
Adjustable for growth and function (3-5 yrs)
May need to be used in conjunction with AFOs
Trunk harness and hinge used for stability
Additional tray can be added for function
Alignment pads for legs and feet

Cons:
Bulky
Obvious
Only really used for WB standing, not gait
