A
- position patient (supine or sitting based on age)
- have parent handle child
- wrap tape measure around widest part of infant’s head (above eyebrows/ears)
- record number to the nearest 1/4 inch or 0.5 cm on disposable liner

- place infant’s head against headboard + ensure knees are straight and toes pointed up
- measure length by rounding to nearest 1/8th inch
