A

Appears in offspring of unaffected patent
Females and males are equally as likely to be affected
Trait is characteristically found in siblings, not parents of the affected or offspring of affected

Autosomal Dominant Inheritance

A

Appears in every generation (does not skip a generation)
Females and males have an equally likely change of being affected
Dominant parent pass trait to offspring, unless they are heterozygous (in this case thee is a 50:50 chance the children will have the condition)
Normal siblings of affected individuals do not transit the fait to their offspring

Sex-Linked (X) Dominant

A

Trait is never passed from father to son
All daughters of an infected male and normal female are carriers or affected
All sons of an affected male and normal female (or carrier) are normal
Matings of affected females and normal males produce = the sons affected and half the daughters affected
The trait may be lethal
All daughters of an affected father will be affected: no sons of an affected father will have it

Sex Linked (X) Recessive

A

Trait is never passed from father to son
Males are much more likely to be affected than females
All affected males in a family are related through their mother
Trait or disease is typically passed from affected grandfather through his carrier daughter, to half of his grandsons
All sons of a mother who have the condition will also have it
Girls will only inherit the condition if both parents carry or have the gene
