What is recruitment
The process of finding people to work for a company i.e. attracting applicants to apply for a job vacancy.

What are reasons a business could have to identify a job vacancy

And increase in demand
As a business grows or changes new jobs may open
What is carrying out a job analysis
It’s looking at the role of a job within an organisation and then responsibilities and skills that will be required of an applicant.
Why is it important to carry out a job analysis
It’s important as it can be used to identify wether a vacancy needs to be filled or wether the tasks and duties can be redistributed to other staff. It is used to help write the job description and person specification.
What is a job description
A job description is a document that states the tasks and responsibilities of the job
What kind of information is in a job description
- Takes and duties
- Pay
- working hours
- contract type
- holiday entitlement
- company benefits e.g. bike to work scheme
What is a person specification
It gives information about the personal criteria required for a Job
What are some of the essential criteria for a person specification
- skills
- qualities
- qualifications
- experience
What are the types of training
- induction
- on-the-job
- off-the-job
