16
Q

Tamponade vs effusion

A

Tamponade, means pt is now unstable hemodynamicalky

17
Q

If patient has pleural effusion main concern is __

A

Tamponade, worse if a rapid accumulation

19
Q

Workup for tamponade

A

Can see swinging heart on a ECHO
ekg will show low voltage, pr depression
AVOID CT
high clinical suspicion, has effusion, and past medical history, trauma

20
Q

Tx for tamponade

A

Emergent pericardiocentesis, until surgical intervention

If chronic slow accumulation, pericardiocentesis, not emergent

21
Q

Pneumopericaridum

A

Gas in the pericardial sac

22
Q

Etiology of pneumopericardium

A

Trauma
Surgery
Infection

23
Q

Pneumopericardium signs

A

Metallic heart sounds
Dyspnea
Asymptomatic
