A
- DSM-5 states diagnosis of a personality disorder only when personality traits appear from adolescence;
are inflexible;
stable and expressed In a range of situations;
Lead to distress or impairment

Borderline Personality Disorder
A
- instability in mood, identity and impulse control.
- Tends to be impulsive and unpredictable
- Unsure who they are or their life goals shift year to year
- Experiences the world as ‘split’ and experiences either go good or bad, people either good or bad

- characterised by the presence of two or more unique personality states/identities that disrupt a usual identity
- No conclusive evidence, but research shows significant differences in respiration rates;
