Types of leadership styles
• Democratic and participative: You include your group and ask for their ideas. You decide as a group. You share power and the leader is
part of the team.
• Humanistic: The leader places more emphasis on team members’ feelings, needs and wants than on bossing, ordering, instructing,
controlling, planning or directing the team”
Why is it important warm-up
• prepares your body for the specific physical activity that you will do
• warms your muscles and makes them more supple
• lessens the risk of muscle and joint injuries
Why is it important to cool down
• slowly get your heart rate and breathing back to resting levels
• prevent you from feeling dizzy or faint, which can happen when you
suddenly stop vigorous physical exercise
• remove the waste products from your muscles
• reduce any stiffness you may feel the next day
Tips to keep in mind to play safely with others
• Rough tackles are not allowed.
• A touch or tag is a light touch, not a grab.
• Avoid throwing a ball or stick to other learners’ faces, breasts or genital areas
Why are rules important in a game
• they explain how the game should be played
• they protect players from harming themselves and others
• they ensure the game is played fairly
• without rules, it will be very difficult to play a game.
