proximal hamstring tendinopathy caused by
compression of the hamstring tendon against the ischial tuberosity
sprinting, jumping, repeated hip flexion and extension movements
clinical presentation of proximal hamstring tendinopathy
sudden or gradual onset posterior buttock pain
progressive pain with ADL
proximal hamstring tendinopathy
TOP- tender on palpation
reproduce symptoms
pain reporduced with hamstring stretch or contraction
piriformis syndrome cause
enlarged/ inflammed tight piriformis causing compression of sciatic nerve
clinical presentation of pririformis syndrome
gradual or acute trauma
deep and diffuse pain
aggs- sitting
physical exam of piriformis syndrome
TOP
decreased hip flexion/ hip adduction/ IR
decreased stength of hip extensors
