Q

What Special Test
Evaluate sciatic tension
-Positive is leaning back or pain to back

A

Seated Straight-Leg Raise

22
Q

What Special Test
With patient prone, lift the hip into extension while keeping the knee straight
-Pain over anterior thigh suggests upper lumbar disc pathology (L1-L4)

A

Reverse Straight-Leg Raise

23
Q

What special test?
a) While seated, have patient rotate and laterally flex the head to unaffected side first, then to affected side
(b) Slowly compress downward to axial load the C-spine
(c) If tolerated, repeat but add extension

A

Spurling

24
Q

What special test?
(a) Stroke lightly upward (like upside down J) on plantar foot
(b) Positive is great toe extension or fanning of lesser toes
(c) Sign of spinal tract pathology

A

Babinski Sign
