What is Newton’s First Law of Motion?
Newton’s First Law states that an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an external force.
What is the formula for force?
Force = mass × acceleration (F = ma)
What is the unit of force in the SI system?
Newton (N)
What does Newton’s Second Law describe?
The relationship between force, mass, and acceleration (F = ma)
What is Newton’s Third Law?
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
What is the formula for kinetic energy?
KE = ½mv²
What is the formula for potential energy?
PE = mgh (mass × gravity × height)
What is the unit of energy?
Joule (J)
What is power in physics?
The rate at which work is done or energy is transferred.
What is the formula for power?
Power = Work / Time or P = W / t
What is the unit of power?
Watt (W)
What is the acceleration due to gravity on Earth?
9.8 m/s²
What is the formula for work?
Work = Force × Distance
What is the unit of work?
Joule (J)
What is the formula for momentum?
Momentum = mass × velocity (p = mv)
What is the law of conservation of momentum?
Total momentum before collision = total momentum after collision (if no external force)
What is friction?
A force that opposes motion between two surfaces.
What are the types of friction?
Static, sliding (kinetic), rolling, and fluid.
What is velocity?
Speed in a given direction.
What is acceleration?
The rate of change of velocity over time.
What is displacement?
The change in position of an object.
What is the difference between scalar and vector quantities?
Scalars have magnitude only; vectors have magnitude and direction.
What is density?
Mass per unit volume (ρ = m/V)
What is the unit of density?
kg/m³ or g/cm³
