Physics Motion Assessment Flashcards
(7 cards)
What is the difference between a scalar and a vector quantity?
A scalar quantity is only a number;
a vector quantity includes a direction.
What is the equation for velocity?
v=s/t
velocity=displacement/time
What are the speeds in m/s of:
Walking
Running
Cycling
Driving
1.5m/s
3m/s
6m/s
20m/s
What is the equation for acceleration?
a=Δv/t
acceleration=change in velocity/time
How do you find instantaneous velocity on a displacement time graph?
Draw a tangent at the wanted point in time on a displacement/time graph and find the gradient.
How do you find displacement on a velocity/time graph?
Displacement=the area under the line(count squares.)
What is the equation that links acceleration, displacement, and the final and initial velocity of an object?
2as=v(^2)-u(^2)
