What is the viability of oocyte and sperm?
oocyte: 24hrs after ovulation
sperm: 72hrs after ejactulation
What is the corticol rxn?
prevents other sperms from getting into the egg
Where does fertilization occur?
fallopian tube
What are the stages of the sperm and egg meeting?
zygote (fertilized egg) –> cell division –> morula (mass of cells) –> blastocytes
What is the trophoblast?
helps build the placent
adheres to the endometrium
What is the inner cell mass?
embryo
invades the endometrium

painless vaginal bleeding

embryonic + maternal tissues

able to hear the heart w/ doppler

able to tell male or female

brain development to suck/swallow

languo - hair all over the body
vernix caseosa - sebaceous secretion + antimicrobial
