How do you disengage the Pierce PUC pump?
1. Reduce the engine speed to idle. 2. Close the discharge valves slowly to prevent water hammer. 3. Observe the tachometer in the cab to make sure the throttle control at the pump panel has been properly reset. 4. Press the WATER PUMP switch to disengage. 5. Observe indicator lights and make sure the WATER PUMP indicator light on the top half of the water pump switch is off.

How do you use the pump in the Pump and Roll Operation?
1. Stop the vehicle. 2. Set the parking brake and auto neutral will engage. 3. Supply water to pump by pulling tank to pump at the drivers panel. 4. Shift transmission into 1st gear. 5. Release parking brake while keeping foot on brake pedal. 6. Check the OK TO PUMP ROLLING amber colored indicator light is on. 7. Engage the pump and activate the WATER PUMP switc on the drivers panel. 8. Check the Pump Engaged indicator lamp is green on the top half of the Water Pump switch. 9. Use foot pedal to control water flow pressure while in Pump and Roll.

When should manual pump engagement be used?
Intended for limited use in the event of the primary control system. Apparatus should be examined by the Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) after manual pump engagement.

How do you manually engage the pump if power is lost to the Pump Shift Switch?
Set parking brake and set the pump shift in cab to OFF position. Open access door in the lower right of the pump panel. Flip up the switch guard into ON position and a yellow indicator light will turn on if the pump is engaged.

How many discharges are on the PUC?
6. Discharge #1 and #3 are located on the drivers side. Discharge #2 located on the officer side. Driver side rear and officer side hose bed have one 2.5" each.

Booster line on PUC?
2 booster reels located on each side above the pump in the hose bed. 200' of 0.75" line in 100' sections.

Where are the booster reel roll-up switches located?
On the intake/discharge below each booster reel. An additional roll-up switch is located i the pump panel left side wall for the drivers side booster reel.

Where is the bumper turret located on the PUC?
Officer side front bumper.

Nozzle can be set from 15-120GPM.

With a control box on the back of the turret or by the joystick in the cab.

What do you need to do to lift the cab on the PUC?
Remove the front bumper turret. Unplug the control switch from the back of the turret and unscrew the base to remove entire turret.

3. A 6" on driver and officer side plus a 2.5" on the drivers side.

Two 200' 1.75" hand lines. One 400' 1" forestry handline located above the intake/discharge panels. One 125' 1.5" handline front bumper. One 200' 2.5" hand line in officers side hosebed.
