Plant Structure Flashcards

1
Q

A

-take in water by osmosis to become turgid, opening the stomata
-lack of water results in guard cells becoming flaccid, closing the stomata

Q

Stomata

A

-stomata on the lower surface allow for gas exchange, needed for photosynthesis
-no stomata on the upper surface to reduce water loss through transpiration
