A

Alpha-1 antitrypsin (A1AT) made in liver.
Inhibits protease in circulation.
Protect tissue from other enzyme.
- prevent neutrophil elastase release during inflammation.
-defective A1AT -> lung tissue degradation+loss of elasticity-> resp issue
