Common desire for the body rather the mind. ‘Common love’. Women and boys.
What does ‘uranian eros’ mean?
Heavenly desire. Specifically a males desire for other males. Desire for mental enrichment.
What does ‘pederasty’ mean?
Sexual relationships between adult male (erastes) and pubescent boy (eromenos).
Who was Aristophanes?
Born 466, died 386 BC. Athenian comic dramatist. Wrote comedies that poked fun at aspects of Athenian life.
What was Alcibiadies?
Born 450, died 404 BC. Athenian general and politician. Famously handsome and notorious in Athens for extravagant and hedonistic lifestyle. Liaised with Spartans and Persians.
