Proper Technique

A

Steady and accurate tapping - hit surface at 90 degree angle with a
snapping lifting motion
70-90 times per minute..not too slow and not too quick
Tap slightly harder on acup points then cutaneous regions
Follow the flow of Qi for reinforcing or counter flow for reducing

Intensity levels of Plumblossoming

A

Light:
Slight redness of the area, the needles don’t penetrate the skin but only irritate the surface

Moderate:
The needles may penetrate the skin at a very superficial level, leaving minimal traces of blood

Heavy:
More visual traces of blood that might look like a rash with minor blood effusion.
*Consider the patient’s response and tolerance to the applied intensity of this technique
