- Build up of fluid between the tissues that line the lungs and chest.
- Due to poor pumping by the heart or inflammation.

- Coughing
- Sharp chest pain
- SOB

- Diuretics (remove fluid)
- Chest tube

- Muffled sound
- Absent/ decreased breath sounds indicating air/ fluid around the lungs
